Not a junting question, and not inspired by hunter's use of firearms,
but I thought someone in this conference might know:

Note 916.0 Discharging firearms near dwellings? No replies
STAR::FARNHAM "Stu Farnham, VMS Development" 8 lines 21-SEP-1989 19:06

What's the law in NH about discharge of firearms with respect to
minimum distance from dwellings?
I know that in some states, it's illegal to discharge a firearm
with 500 feet of a dwelling.

I believe in N.H. it is also 500 feet in but also 300 feet from
a road also. The roads must be a class 1,2,3,4, or 5. You may fire
from a class 6 though.

I think a lot of cities also have ordinances - like its illegal to discharge a firearm within city limits, regardless of how close you are to a dwelling. I'm assuming, though, that you're talking about somewhere rural that just happens to be near a house... | |||||

I think Windham, N.H. is one town that does not allow the discharge
of a firearm.
