| | DAVE,

Regarding the use of a bow during the muzzleloader season, any
specifics on whether or not you can take 2 deer with a bow during
    the same calender year?

Also, there will be no Doe Season this year, can't remember if it
was closed last year to the locals or not, but this combined with
the mild winter we just experienced really makes things look promising.

Just read an article where Okemo Ski area has traded the state 1200
acres of bear habitat, for 600 acres of US forest. I'm sure the
600 acres will benefit the ski area, values were $750,000 for the
1200 acres and $250,000 for the 600 acres.

While the ski area's may be hurting the animal habitat, its nice
to see they are willing to play "lets make a deal" for any additional
    land they need for expansion.

    any season date yet?

Only one deer limit during archery season. Then you may take another
during the rifle season or muzzleloader season. 2 limit total.
In other words, its the same way it has been in years past.

    Re: Season dates?

The separate bear season is still in the talking stage last I heard.
    Nothing has been agreed upon.

    re .1

You can hunt with a bow during any of the firearm seasons. If you want
to use a bow during rifle season, that's fine...if you want to use a
bow during muzzleloader season on your purchased muzzleloader liscence
that's fine...this is the way it's been for years. The new law extends
the bow season, if you didn't fill your bow tag during the regular bow
season, then you can apply that to the 9 day muzzleloader season, but
you must obey the muzzleloader rules..i.e., bucks only, 3" antlers min.
The 2 deer/year limit is in effect, as Dave mentioned.

So the answer to your question is YES. You can take 2 deer in Vermont
with a bow. In fact you could have last year, and the year
before...etc. The deer of course would have been taken on separate
tags, for example: a buck during the regular rifle season with a bow,
on the firearms tag, a buck during the muzzleloader/extended bow season
on the bow tag. Get it.

This is a little off the subject, but I was wondering if any of you
folks from VT would know off hand how much the large and small game
licenses are in VT. for non-residents?
Also is there a state wildfowl stamp for hunting ducks and geese?

My brother is moving to Brattleboro VT and I hope to do some hunting
    up there with him.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Fra, Dave,

Thanks for the quick response. Looks more than reasonable, now to get
my brother to find a few good spots and the landowners blessing.
    Thanks again,
    Michael
