|  |     From what i have heard..Crownline is a joint venture between
    Wellcraft and Bayliner to fill the niche of a modestly priced
    modestly equipped boat.The only model i have seen on the water
    looked like a 20'...looked ok.

| 1112.2 | looked good to me! | DPDMAI::GINN | mike ginn | Mon Oct 04 1993 11:50 | 11 |
| | I heard that Crownline was being built in the old Mark Twain plant in
    Illinois by the previous owner of Celebrity. I looked seriously at
    their line of boats this past spring. My local dealer only carried the
    runabouts, and I was interested in the 25' cuddy cabin. The runabouts
    looked great to me, so I ventured to the Miami boat show last February
    to see the 25' cuddy. For the $$$ I wasn't impressed with the cuddy,
    but I still think the runabouts are a quality boat for a great price.

    I ended up buying a 1984 28' Carver Mariner... great boat.

| | I have also recently looked at CrownLine. The dealer in Dallas said
    its a family owned operation that has been in the boat business for
    years. They sold out there previous boat company to a much larger
    corporation. This particular dealer is one of the most successful in
    the southwest so they can carry just about any brand they want. It
    does look like a high quality boat. I would be interested in any
    additional information you learn in your search. It appears to be
    a very good boat for the price.

    Crownline, like Mariah, is a spinoff of Celebrity boats. One of the
    boat rags, I believe it was trailer boats, did a writeup on one of their
    models. The writeup was very positive.

| 1112.5 | Take delivery this weekend! | AIMHI::TRAHAN |  | Thu Oct 07 1993 15:03 | 18 |

    We bought the boat! We pass final papers on the boat this weekend.
    Hopefully we'll be able to take it out for a quick cruise before
    the snow flies!

    After leaving Trexlers last weekend, we stopped over at Thurstons
    Marina on Paugus Bay. Seems Trexlers has lost their CrownLine
    Line to Thurstons. They had all new 94's in stock. After speaking
    with the salesmen there, we got the scoop on Trexlers being dropped
    by CrownLine. Seems they weren't promoting the line enough and
    the visibility was not meeting CrownLines sales.

    The salesmen could not say enough good things about the CrownLine
    boats. It made us feel like we had made the right decision to go
    with it. I felt pretty good considering we paid 8K less for the 93,
    than the 94 model that Thurstons had in their showroom.

| 1112.6 | Who does the warranty work? | SALEM::NORCROSS_W |  | Thu Oct 07 1993 15:21 | 3 |
| | Who is going to honor the warranty, Trexler's or Thurston's? Make sure
    that there is no confusion on that before you complete the sale.

    Thurstons have already told us to see them for all our warranty
    work. It's funny, Trexlers never told us that Thurstons was the
    new dealer on the lake. Probably because they were afraid we would
    take our business there. I plan on mentioning it to the salesmen
    after we pass the paperwork this weekend.

| 1112.8 | Channel Marine is CrownLine dealer | AIMHI::TRAHAN |  | Mon Oct 11 1993 13:40 | 8 |

    My mistake, the new CrownLine Dealer on the lake is Channel Marine,
    NOT Thurstons as previously written.

    Went out for one final cruise on Saturday before winterizing the
    boat. Now I'll be praying for a short winter!
