1092.0. "Mercruiser Stern Drives" by SHUTKI::JOYCE () Mon Aug 02 1993 08:35
I'm going to have to repower in the near future. I have a 7.4l Bravo I Sterndrive
currently installed on my 25ft. Pro-line. Because of the weight of the boat and
the fuel/bait/ice/gear, I would guess I top out over 8000lbs. I want to cruise at
20 knots. When I run the numbers to get an idea of what my prop slip looks like,
I'm running at around 60% when cruising at 20 knots.
The problem is, can I get better performance by going with a Bravo II or
Bravo III?
I define performance as 20 knots and least fuel burned.
I'd like to ask if anyone comes across any boats powered by the Bravo II or III
in a boat like my and a friendly owner, get a few stats. I only need the boat
speed at what rpm and prop pitch.
BTW the Bravo III looks very good on lighter boats 4000-5000 lbs.
Thanks
Steve
