      I am writing this note for a friend. HE saw an advertisement in
    a Western Mass newspaper about MAriah bowriders. Specifically an 
    18.5 ft model with 205 hp engine and a laundry list of bells and
    whistles. HAs anyone heard about these boats and their quality?
    At least for price range they seem to be in the Whaler class with 
    an 18ft-er going for $16k? Any opinions out there pro or con?

    I happen to know that the Mariah brand of boat was developed by an ex
    Celebrity V.P.(Jim Fulks) who came out of retirement. They are made in
    Benton Ill. down the road from Celebrity(who I think is in the process of
    filing Chapter 11). The Mariah's are carried by a couple of local St. Louis
    dealers and from what I have seen the quality looks good. 
    
    Currently the company employs 85 people with a payroll of $1 Million,
    they are currently turning out three boats a day. They have approx.
    50 distributors in the U.S.,Canada,Japan, and Europe.

Hi,

We are looking to buy a boat this spring and thus went into the show 
at Bayside last night. One brand that we hadn't heard much about but
liked was the Mariah 2350 Z. I have looked through this conference
and didn't see too much on this brand. I would be very interested 
in hearing your knowledge/info/opinions about the Mariah boats.
