| Check out your local library. I got a book on a chrysler from my
local library, and I just bought a mercury outboard that I have a
request in for atmy local library. I think that there is a series of
books on outboardd engines (Clymers), like there is for cars
(Chiltons). I've had a lot of luck my my local library. Keep in touch
I haven't seen you for awhile.

| Rob I ahead of you there, except that the one and only
Library I did check out was in Natick and there wasn't
too much of a selection. Will try Framingham next. Also
have since found out that Evinrude is the equivalent...
is that true ?

Does anyone have a book on an 81 Johnson 35HP motor that I can
borrow, zerox and return so I can do some of the minor tuning
up on the motor myself. Know the right plug size etc.

I think so, I have a couple or three of them in a series
something like
Recent small Johnson and Evinrude OBs, older small, recent
large and older large.
I'll check, at a guess the '81 is right on the edge of what
they call recent/old - 35 is probably right on the edge of small/large
too.

Why don't you just pick one up at the local book store or at a discount
Marine house- like Bliss Marine in Dedham. Clymer's and CVhilton both
publish books( I prefer Clymer's). the run about $12-$14 as I recall.
One samll repair or tune up and the book will have more than paid for
itself.

| re .5 Actually the place I go to in Ashland have one
for $ 25.00 which is too much for me for what I
want to do with it etc. Seems excessive but the
books covers other stuff I dont need or want (at
this time). A friend is going to bring his copy
in and I can copy the pages I want. $ 12.-14 would\
be reasonable.

I FINALLY got around to digging through my bookshelf.
Sorry, what you have is too big and too young to be covered by what I
have.

I just got a manual for my 4hp Evinrude from M&E. This book covers
tuneups and repair for one and two cylinder motors from Evinrude and
Johnson. Supposed to cover models for about 8 years or so. Got it
yesterday so I can't vouch for its accuracy or worth but its a manual!
M&E toll free @ 800-541-6501. You could try em.
