| | Use either an automotive floor jack or bottle jack of proper weight
capacity for the boat and trailer and jack up the trailer under
a hefty frame member. Lower down onto cinder blocks and/or wood
blocks, (don't use the cheap automotive jackstands, they're unstable)
such that the axle/springs are hanging in a relaxed state and wheels
aren't touching the ground. For added securety, take the wheels
off and store in the basement. (Remember to crack the lugnuts BEFORE
the wheels are off the ground)
Depending on the size of the boat, three supports (port, starboard
and bow) under the trailer only should be adequate.

| | If you use cinder blocks it's best to use solid blocks. But, if
you use the hollow blocks, make sure the holes are vertical and
not horizontal. If the holes are horizontal then the blocks could
crumble. Cinder blocks are not the most solid things in the world.
Wooden blocks are more durable and lighter.

Also, get some heavy duty lube grease and smear some on the wheel
    studs so they don't rust.
