    after day........and don't forget to subscribe to all the specialty
    channels....then you can see what will be on the regular channels
    within the next couple of weeks.....(specilty channels on cable mean
    that for a few more dollars....you can pay to see it so that you can

    i have to rely on my friends for star trek
    
    
    fortunately some pick up the paramount feed so they see it and tape
    it a week before it ever hits the regular channel screens. So 
    I come out ahead of the crowd. 
    
    Unfortunately, I haven't seen the voyageur series ahead of schedule
    this way.
    
    I still have a complete video library of all star trek episodes as
    they come out though..so I'm not hurting too bad.

    MFT: Getting home last night, there was a strange car in my
    driveway.  I walked into the house to find Alan sitting in the
    livingroom with a young girl that looked to be about 16 or 17.
    He introduced me to her.  She was the daughter of one of the 
    women that works for him.  She was there to babysit.
    
    He took me out for a quiet, romantic dinner, and we talked and 
    talked and talked some more.  Even to the point where the waiter 
    commented that we seemed to be in deep conversation and that he
    didn't even want to interrupt long enough to see if we wanted
    another drink.  
    
    I'm so glad that I married this man!  We can talk about anything, and
    he is always so supportive and understanding.  I have decided to make
    alot of changes in my life over the last year, and he has supported me
    through every decision I've made.  Some of them haven't been the right
    decisions, but I would not have known if I didn't try, and he's never
    rubbed that in my face.  
    
    I've made a decision to make another change, and it might not be right,
    but I've got to give it a shot....we shall see.

    Amusement Parks - There are several local ones in the area.  Best
    Roller Coaster to be found at Riverside in Agawam Mass.  There are also
    local parks in NH (Canobie Lake), MASS (Whalom Park) and Rhode Island

You need a unix provider that will either set you up a SLIP account or support
you running TIA (Terminal Interface Adapter). TIA is available for $25 and my
provider has the host side already installed and set up. For $65 you can have
the TIA people set it all up for yo but I went cheap (since I didn't know if I'd
like it) and did the setup myself. Took about an hour or so over the weekend. I
needed to upgrade my ancient Mac OS as a separate piece but one that was done it
was simple. Everything else you need is shareware and available over the net.

    MFT: Last night on TV here in Melbourne, was the actor who plays the
    part of Captain Picard in the Star Trek movies.
    
    He was interviewd on `Hey Hey, It's Saturday', along with singer Tom
    Jones. They are both neighbours in Los Angeles - live around the corner
    from one another.
    
    The new Star Trek movie has broken box office records here, having
    outsold Jurassic Park already. Captain Picard is here to promote the
    movie. He was saying that many more of the original cast were planned
    to play in the latest movie in the series, but contract negotiations
    were the stumbling block.

Unfortunately I missed "Generations", the last StarTrek movie.
But.....
as soon as it comes to the video stores....
I gonna get it. And then, hopefully, the complete collection of
all StarTrek movies will be on sale again, like it was at Christmas
time.

Generations was no huge run here, most people I talked to, were
disappointed. But it outsold Jurassic park in Down Under?????

    	re: paintball
    
    	Paintball is a game played with "markers" that shoot little .68"
    paint-filled plastic balls (the markers looked like a space-gun on
    steroids). You divide up into two teams of twenty or so players and
    each team trys to get the other ones flag. If you get "shot" with a
    paint pellet, you're out for that game (usually about 15-20mins a
    game). The whole point it to keep the other team at bay and to "shoot"
    as many of them as you can.
    
    	It's great fun and the place I go to stresses safety. I like
    that. They may charge a bit more than other places, but I'll pay the
    extra to have good judges and a safe environment. I'm there to have fun
    after all....

    paintball and it involves alot of running, climbing, crawling, etc. If

	Well, Agn�s is OK. She just wondered if I was still thinking about her.
U here, U know the answer... Life in East Europa isn't very easy but U have to
know this... Maybe one day, I'm gonna make an effort and go to visit her in her
home. For the moment we just write. For sure it's not enough, but it could be
worse (mean forget a friend because of the distance and because of the time
which takes a letter to arrive).
	She says she imagines myself making a lot of things and having fun...
Behind her words I can see she feels lonely and she can't stand not to have
anything interresting to do. Well, I'll have to write with all my hapyness to
give her a lot of remote "positive energy". Reading her words I see the distance
between our two ways of life. I'm proud to be Frenchy. For me TGIF means "Thanks
God I'm French".

    	I take classes at Quinsigamond Community College, but Digital will
    pay for a lot of different colleges (WPI, Clark, etc). Got to your
    manager and tell him/her that you would like to make up a development
    plan with taking classes being a top priority (make sure to specify
    which classes in the development plan). You will need to re-do a
    development plan every year. Your group secretary should have all the
    forms to fill out....just sign in the right places and you're on your
    way! Make sure you get all the info from the school BEFORE you fill out
    the forms (you need to know how much the class will cost, book cost,
    tax, etc).

	As for me, I've had Algebra classes about 5 years ago to begin my

   Whenever you need to do some calculations you need it. It is somehow

    Only, I go to Massasoit Community College.  I have signed up
    for an associates degree program in Electronics Technology. As
    I am currently a technician, this degree will be in the field
    in which I work, and therefor required for my advancement.  That's
    the key to getting an approval on something like this.  The class 
    has to be job or advancement related in order to have them pay for
    it, or you MUST be in a degree program, and the class must be part
    of the prerequisite(sp?) of the degree.

   - counting how much icecream scoops you can buy with the money you have
   - counting how much beers you need to get your normal comfortlevel of
     alcohol on a particular day
   - counting how many kilometers a particular distance is that was given
     to you in miles by your US friends

can't translate in English cause it's much too complex. For me, Algebra was
something very very theorical...
	Well, another language trouble, it's not my first and it won't be my
last... If U learn what Twix said basically, there is a dayly use, and U're
really lucky to be paid for this!   :)))
	As for me, my studies just finished, so I'm happy to work for... money
and for myself, without needing to be good the right day  and the right hour
(meaning the exam day). But Studiing has got an advantage: U can meet some young
people very nice (I love students partiiiiiiiiiiies).

    Last night I went for my English placement test.  The test was in two
    parts.  Part one entailed writing a 300 word minimum essay on a topic
    of their choice, which they handed out on little slips of paper.  Part
    two concisted of reading comp. skills, in which you read a paragraph or
    two and answered several questions about what you had read. There were
    40 questions, and we had 40 minutes to complete the test.
    
    When i opened my paper to see what they had given me for a subject, a
    big smile came across my face.  I knew I had it in the bag instantly.

    I chose my own topic instantly.  My essay was almost 600 words long,
    and was about the information superhighway.  When the professor read my
    essay, he said it gave him an instant knowledge of what the
    info.superhighway was, as well as the belief that I had very strong
    feelings about the subject I had chosen.  He said it was very well
    writen, and informative.  Then he told me that I was being placed in a
    higher level English Comp. class!  :*)
    
    When we got to the reading section, I got 39 out of a possible 40
    points.  They informed me that not only did I not need to take the
    reading course, but that anyone that scored above a 35 on the test
    automatically received three credits towerds their degree, because they
    viewed it as passing the final exam for the class!

    VVVVVMFT:  My meeting went really well!  Much better than 
    I ever immagined it would!  I had to give several people
    a piece of my mind, and my boss and their supervisor stood
    behind everything I said, reiterated with examples of their
    own, and were so supportive.
    
    Their supervisor came to me after the meeting and told me that
    he really admired me for what I did, and that too many people
    would not have the courage to stand up in front of a group of
    their associates like I did and rip them apart, siting examples
    to each of them whenever needed.

    	Oh, I didn't know Martina was questioning what an EMT was. Sorry
    kiddo! My EMT class (Emergency Medical Technician) is about 140hrs long
    and will last until August 30th. When I'm done I'll be able to go on
    ambulance runs, transport people to the hospital, etc. There are three
    levels of training: EMT basic (course I'm taking now), EMT I-tech (able
    to administer intravenous fluids, more advanced care, etc), and
    Paramedic (endotracheal intubation, administering drugs, defribulation,
    etc). Paramedic is about 400hrs of training (approx 1.5yrs) and much
    more than I am looking for. I'll probably make EMT I-tech tho' since
    that just requires taking a few extra classes/seminars.
    
    	I think the training is great for anyone to get, no matter if you
    want to become a volunteer/full time EMT or not. It's costing me about
    $400 out of my own pocket, but what I'm learning may save someone's
    life one day. A small price to pay...

    Being an EMT and go on ambulance runs is very very very challenging.
    My ex-sister-in-law is a doctor and did ambulance for a year.
    Wow, I'll never forget her stories.

    enormous bouquet of lilacs for the diningroom table.  After everyone
    left, I tore all the buds off the stems, and wrapped them in
    cheesecloth.  Then I crushed them up under the heel of my foot. When
    that was done, I filled the tub with hot hot water, and drop[ped in the
    cheesecloth filled with lilac buds.  I took a nice long lilac bath.  It
    was wonderful!!!!  And this morning, I still smell like one big lilac

    24th/25th June.  I'm delivering a work permit! :-)
    
    Well, I need to discuss this with my dear travelling companion, but the
    things I'd probably like to see on the agenda are:
    
    Eiffel Tower, Montmatre/Sacre Cour...a wander along the Seine, place Louise
    -L�pine, maybe Jardin des Tuileries and the Musee de L'Orangerie...walk 
    around some of the quieter streets.
    
    Currently looking for a good place to stay.

    I stayed at the Place des Voges...lovely location right on the oldest

	Good place to stay/see in Paris:

	- Montmartre
	- Buttes de Chaumont
	- Quartier Ile de la cit�-St Michel (and of course quartier Latin)
	- Luxembourg
	- Trocad�ro
	- Samaritaine (bar-terrasse magnifique au dernier �tage, vue splendide)

	Quiet/good/cheep restaurants

	- Monge
	- Montparnasse

	On nite

	- hot : Pigalle
	- melting pot : Champs Elysees, Rivoli, Quartier Latin
	- young : Halles, Montparnasse, St Germain
	- quiet/romantic : Seine, walking along Bd St Michel, Bastille
