Hello, Is it possible to have two LCPISRV process types, the one attending Win3.11 clients (BSO 2.0A) and another serving Win95 clients (BSO 3.1) using the LCPISRV3FOR2 image? Rgds, xavier salra NSIS-Spain

Yes, you shouldn't have any problem.
Furthermore, the *same* LCPISRV process can handle both types of
clients, hence you don't need to have two or more separate processes,
unless the total number of clients is relevant (at a rough guess, allow
one LCPISRV process for each 4 or 5 client PCs).

for those who don't know, it is a special version of B* 3.0's
LCPISRV process, which can handle both 2.0A and 3.[01] clients.

Beppe,
How does one access/start the LCPISRV3FOR2 image in BSO 3.1?
And as a related question, how does one configure BSO to start
more than one LCPISRV process during startup?
Thanks.

Scott,
>> How does one access/start the LCPISRV3FOR2 image in BSO 3.1?
You cannot, because it's not shipped with the kit !
As far as I know, it was a "special" executable image that
was unofficially released to some customers who had to cope
for a while with a mixed scenario: B* Server 3.0 and assorted
B* Clients 2.0 and 3.0.
The "official" lcpisrv process (both 3.0 and 3.1) can talk with
both 3.0 and 3.1 clients, no matter what the involved operating
systems are.

On B* Server on WNT, it's a
"BASEstar Open Manager/customize/REALM setup" option.
For Unix and VMS, see BASESTAROPEN_QAR 110.4 and 110.7 .
