A client of mine has developed an application using Windows-95,
Visual Basic 4.0 16 bit and ODBC Driver 2.0.
Randomly GPF on different DLL occur during the execution of operations
apparently similar.
For example
VB caused a general protection fault in module OC25.DLL at 0014:000002df
" " " " " " OC25.DLL at 0002:000022cc
" " " " " " DA02516.DLL at 002d:00000044
" " " " " " VB40016.DLL at 001d:00001864
Have you any idea of which could be the reason of this problems?
Thanks,
Marta

Well, with 16-bit VB4 applications the first step is to make sure you
have v4.0a of VB. This fixed a lot of 16-bit bugs. Microsoft were very
coy about this release. To get it complain to Microsoft about your
problems. There is a note in here somewhere about ordering v4.0a from
MS for about a $20 P&P fee.
Cheers,
Brian

I bought 4.0 pro... experienced a couple of bugs, reported one to MS. A local MS rep called me, tooK my name and address, and they shipped me a 4.0a CD --FREE--. The new disk arrived in about four days. I was impressed. Then some of the esteem leaked away when an MS rep called me from Redmond -- about the same bug report -- and told me that she would send me a new 4.0a CD for $5 shipping. So the left coast didn't know what the right coast was doing. But, hey - who am I to complain? Art | |||||
