639.0. "COSMOS 2084" by 3625::BIRO () Tue Jun 26 1990 08:05

	I missed the detail of the COSMOS 2084 launch.
	I think it was on Friday (22 June).
.
	Does anyone have any info on this satellite.
	It is in an strange orbit and could be a failed
	launch. It is in a 757x585 km orbit with a 62.8 deg inclination.

        Normally for a 62.8 deg launch it would either be
        a 170x400 or a 400-40000 km orbit. Since there are
        55A,B,C,D and the 757x585km orbit I think it is a
        failed Molniya/Early Warning satellite.

|  |     John,

    I have no information. Is this the platform that is carrying RS-12?
    Have you heard anything about RS-12 yet?

    Joe

    No it is not the Platform for RS-12,
    according to a UPI article TASS said that communication
    have been lost with K-2084 and that they were working
    on the problem... Hopefully I will have more from TASS
    tomorrow
