Subject: Broadcast of Digital's "Infinite Voyage" TV Program
Digital is sponsoring "Infinite Voyage," a series of twelve television
programs to be broadcast over three years celebrating the adventures of
science, exploration and discovery. The first show, "Unseen Worlds", airs
first on PBS stations, then within the next month on selected commercial
television stations across the country. Each episode is produced by WQED in
collaboration with the National Academy of Sciences, the same people that
brought us the award winning show, "Planet Earth."
In the Boston area, the first show airs on Channel 2 (without the TV
commercials) on Wednesday, October 28th, at 8 p.m. Following the PBS
premiere the series will be re-broadcast on Channel 5, WCVB-TV, Boston,
on November 2nd at 8 p.m. (with the new Digital commercials).
The new TV ads help promote high level Digital messages by demonstrating
the competitive benefit of enterprise computing. The fact that the
commercials feature CEO's as spokespeople emphasize the truly corporate-
wide nature of the message.
Please let me know what you think about the TV program and commercials.
Thanks
Janis

It is my understanding that the commercial broadcasts will be laden
with new Digital commercials. (yes folks, a bunch of one's and zero's
will fill your TV screen! :-) I expect the commercials will make
some of the content switches more obvious, a couple of times I got
lost when they switched topics, because the switch wasn't obvious.
Enjoy,
-Dave

Pretty to look at, but very light on content I thought.
And why, oh why, are we sponsoring a program that insists on adding
cutesy 'computer noises' every time something happens on a terminal?
Or is there something about our terminal strategy that I don't
understand :-) ?

Maybe it just that, a "terminal strategy"! :-) -Dave | |||||
