Hi ,
A customer is installing the Novell Netware ODI Server V4.1 with
DEFPA-UA,they can not successfully install it. The error messages
is:"Initalize failure".But they successfully installed the Netware SFT
III MSL V4.1 and Netware Dos ODI client with the same card.Who can tell
me what other driver should we provide for the customer or some other
suggestions? It's very urgent.
Thanks in advance.
Best Rgds,
Janet

Which version of DEFPA.LAN are you using? Have you already fetched the
latest DEFPA driver kit (v2.7) from the Easynet or Internet? What
version of MSM.NLM and FDDITSM.NLM are you using?

Does the Intel-based server use the TRITON chipset? You need hardware
DEFPA revision E01 or later with TRITON chipsets.

Mark,

If the system used Triton and he had the older DEFPA, *none* of the
drivers would have worked. Since two of the three drivers worked, it's
not likely to be a hardware issue. One major difference between the
original DEFPA.LAN driver and the MSL and ODI client drivers is that the
DEFPA.LAN driver memory-mapped the adapter registers. This caused a
lot of interoperability problems with NetWare 4.1 and systems with
certain BIOS's, which is why I changed the driver to use I/O mapping.
That's why I need to know which version of the driver they're using.
