Hi,
A customer of mine has three UTP model DEFTAs (54-22463-03). The
problem is that when you lightly touch the RJ45 connector the link
may go down, the cable has been replaced and no help. It seems that
the problem is in the little "piggybacked" module which sits on the
54-22463-03 board. The little UTP adapter has the partnumber
54-21459, but our logistics tell me that they don't know the part
#. They tried with several different extensions (-01, -02, -04
etc.)
Anyone out there who is able to give the right partnumber for the
little adapter board. I expected that 54-22463-03 will contain this
little board too but maybe I was too optimistic :-)
Thanks in advance
Tero

Tero, If you currently have a 54-21459 UTP ModPMD on a DEFTA, then it is a -01. If that part is no longer available through Logistics, you may want to try a 54-22539-01. That is the ModPMD currently listed in the APPIX BOM for the DEFTA-UA. /mj | |||||

Regardless of the availability of the 54-21459, you would want to
replace the module with the 54-22539. The 54-22539 is a superior module
to the '21459 allowing *reliable* links beyond 100m of Cat 5 (although
not required by spec, it is nice feature).
