1949.0. "900MX and Cisco incompatible??" by UTRTSC::UTRTSC::DEKKER () Thu Feb 08 1996 10:18
    Hi,

    Has somebody seen the following (this would save me lots of tracing I
    think):
    Customer has a Cisco 4500 router with FDDI interface. When he connects
    this one to a DECswitch 900EF then everything works as expected: both
    ports (A and B) are up and running. So it is just a two station ring.

    Now when he replaces the 900EF with a DECconcentrator 900MX then the
    B-port of the 900MX will wrap.
    As soon as you connect an other station the an M-port, the B-port will
    become active.
    The same situation exists if you replace the 900MX by a 900TH.

    Has this something to do with full-duplex mode or just some bug in the
    Cisco?

    thanks, Ton.

    I think we need more information.

    Is the 900MX installed in a hub or standalone? If standalone is it an
    DEF1H power supply with active PMDs?

    What physical port on the 900MX are you connecting A & B to?
