One of our customer's is considering changing the Ethernet cards in his
two Vax 400 Model 500a to DEFQA-SF FDDI cards. Given the performance
limitation of the Q-Bus, is it worth the investment? What kind of
    throughput improvement would be expected?

    Thanks

    Rick

Absolutely NOT. the DEFQA has a thruput of 13Mbps. It's better to put 2
Ethernet controllers in with a PEswitch 900TX than to put in the DEFQA.
The customer won't be pleased with the performance.
