    Hello,

I have a customer who has the following question:

How is the physical ring and the logical ring positiond in a DECconcentrator
500? He wants to know the upstream and downstream nabor when he is looking at
the concentrator. What he expect is that the ring is as follows:

Port A ring in 
  |
A1 - A2 - A3 - A4 - A5 - A6-
                            |
 ---------------------------
|
B1 - B2 - B3 - B4 - B5 - B6-
                            |
 ---------------------------
|
Port B ring out.

Is this true ?

    Yes, this is correct. 
    
    The concentrator's MAC is placed just before the output for 
    the B Port, it's upstream neighbor will be the station (MAC) 
    nearest the B port (e.g. if there were connections to (using 
    the terminology in the previous reply) A5 and B3, B3 would be 
    this concentrator's upstream neighbor). It's downstream neighbor 
    would be the first station (MAC) out of it's B port.
