I have been asked about "radiation-proof fiber optic cable" - whether or not it is available, supliers etc. The question comes from a nuclear plant in the Ukraine, so I assume it is a serious question and not a spoof .......

| Radiation hardened fibers are available from at least one manufacturer.
I spoke with Brad Jones of SpecTran Specialty Fiber Optics - they make
and sell fibers, cables, and cable assemblies for this kind of market.
They are located in Connecticut. Phone 203/678-0371.

Also you can check with Brand Rex cable in Willimantic Connecticut
as they were providing some "hardened" cable for the US DOD and
    	power plants.
