    Does anyone know if there are products available to connect an
    Amdahl IBM mainframe clone to FDDI?  I don't know yet what
    model Amdahl, but they are running MVS.

            Yes - I do. They(the customer, I presume) needs to add an IBM  
            3172 Model 3 with an FDDI LAN adapter.  Then they need to order
    	    the TCP/IP Offload features for the 3172. And they need to order
            TCP/IP V3 for MVS.
