Hi, My customer is thinking FDDI dual homing configuration. And he is worrying about fail over time. How long does it take for DEFPA-DA fail over upon a cable failure? thanks, naoki

Not long enough to cause any protocols to timeout - under two seconds.

| Larry is right, its under 2 seconds. However, if there was n error
detected by the Link confidence test as the A-M port becomes active,
then it might take another 6 seconds. This is not the usual case,
and 2 seconds is a good answer for the typical failover time.
