HI.
I have looked high and low in our office, including logistics, old
manuals and the district support guys and found nothing on this.
What I need is some specs for an old DEC cable....this is two fiber
cable from about 8 years ago. The DEC P/N is 17-00333-01.
A customer had this installed about 8 years ago with FSMA connectors on
it and now wants to change to ST connectors...he needs to know the size
of the cable.
Thanks in advance for any help.

My copy of the 17-00333-01 spec indicates that this cable contains
100/140 micron optical fiber. That's 100 micron core diameter, and
140 micron cladding diameter. Your customer can probably get STs
for this, but I'd really make sure that the fiber is suitable for
the application.
I haven't got the complete specs on the fiber - tha spec I found is for
the cable. I can dig it up if you need more information.

| 1573.2 | Just what I needed.... | CGOOA::PITULEY | Ain't technology wonderful? | Fri Feb 03 1995 14:27 | 10 |
WONDERFUL!!!! Talk about quick response! The customer was happy with
the info and I also put the bug in his ear about the old fiber's
suitability for continuing use.....we'll see what happens. He *might*
call back for full specs......
Thank you !
