I don't know which notes conference is suitable for this question. I cross post
it on Ethernet, FDDI, DECNIS.

If I config Bridging and routing at the same time which path will be selected
first, DECNIS or 900 bridge. The application using client and server
concept and run TCP and UDP. The host (TANDEM) will send UDP messages on both
ethernet port alternately to two rings. We have to make sure the message can
pass thru to all the PC on the network. The customer does not like spanning
tree algorithms due to some reason. My question is when 900B is fail can
DECNIS automatically pick up the forwarding. In normal environment, which path
will the protocol choose first.

KK,
A couple of points...
1. The DECNIS will ALWAYS route TCP/IP
2. Since you have set up a loop, one of the bridges will go into
backup mode due to the spanning tree. You can define the
preferred path by setting up the costs appropriately on
each of bridge ports.
3. If a bridge fails, the rest of the bridges in the network will
reconfigure to work around the failure due to spanning
tree.
4. What do you mean the customer "doesn't like" spanning tree?

This is not exactly true.
DECNIS will always route IP *if* it is configured to route IP at all.
If it is not configured to route IP, then it will bridge IP.
