I have an urgent request asking if we can supply a DECconcentrator500 to connect 12 Sun SPARCstations. Sorry that I have only limited info (it is 9:30pm here in Oslo and we need some kind of answer tomorrow morning), but the message says that they have tried a Synoptics concentrator and that one is not functioning. What this mean, I don't know. Are there checkpoints that I could use to avoid the most obvious pitfalls? I am sorry that the info is somewhat limited, but this could make an inroad into a major engineering account and I have therefore decided to post this note. Any comments would be very much welcomed. Regards, Oyvind.

| The quick answer: Yes.

BUT, there are a number of known bugs in Sun's FDDI implementation,
which have been fixed in various software patches. Some of them are
detailed in other notes in this file.
