1086.0. "610 Bridge Disconnects every 15 seconds" by BIGRED::SPARKS (I have just what you need) Fri Sep 10 1993 15:35
    I just looked at a DEC 610 bridge with an odd problem. The bridge
    passes it's diagnostics, however every 15 seconds all 3 ethernet lines
    the yellow light blinks off once, at the same exact time, and it drops
    packets. MCC show it accumulating disconnects, but the bridge isn't
    reporting any errors. The FDDI port counters look fine.

    We disconnected all the ethernet lines, and connected a DELNI and a
    laptop computer, and the same problem on that 1 port, a blink off every 15
    seconds, it doesn't go through the reload, just drops a few packets.

    I am sure this is a defective bridge, but would like an idea as to what
    might be happening. Right above it is another 610 that behaves
    normally.

    Thanks
    Sparky

| 1086.1 | Check loopback plugs are in | RDGENG::PRATT |  | Thu Sep 30 1993 09:47 | 5 |
| | If you are not using some of the ethernets ports then make sure that the
loopback plugs are plugged in. This will stop the DB6xx going into diagnostic
port test mode, and this should fix your problem.
