  ?????
   Customer has decelms V1.1 and has 2 new DB510's..his other
   bridges are DB500's. I tried to setup the new bridges but
   the elms software reports them as
   Device type "unknown device" and when you do a sho char
   its the same with software version 1.2 and no other info.
   The only difference I can see is the AP module which is
   an AP2 for the DB510. switch settings are as normal
   3,4,10=manage both ports and AUI selected.
    Any ideas.

| 1068.1 | Not Supported via DECelms | BWTEAL::WOESTEMEYER | Why??...Why not!!! | Mon Aug 23 1993 07:46 | 8 |
|     I'll hazard a guess.  DECelms supports the Lanbridge 100, 150, 200, and
    the DECbridge 500. Notice the '00'. It does not support any other
    DECbridge, this includes the 510. Since it does not support the
    DECbridge 510, it will be an unknown device type. Support for the
    DECbridge 5xx/6xx is only provided in The DECmcc ELM modules.

| 1068.2 | mcc or snmp needed | QUIVER::WALTER | Wed Aug 25 1993 12:23 | 5 | |
| Steve is right. To manage the DECbridge 5xx/6xx series, you need either
    DECmcc with the Bridge AM module, or an SNMP management station.
