| 792.3 | 1.5-1H1 and DEVREQERR | CSC32::J_SHUMWAY |  | Mon Oct 24 1994 10:23 | 5 |
| | Customer has 7620, with 1.5-1H1 loaded he gets DEVREQERR when turning
on the FDDI line in NCP. If running 6.1 all works fine. The Demfa was
swapped and is V2.0. He says he needs to run 1.5-1H1 to be compatable
with his 5.5-2 cluster. The cluster will not be upgraded to 6.1 for
a few months. Was/is there a fix for 1.5-1H1 or is 6.1 the only choice?

| | What version of FXDRIVER is running - do a SHOW LAN/DEV=FXA
and post the revision data. Also, look at SHOW LAN/COU/DEV=FXA,
and see what kind of an error it is getting.
I know there was a cluster fix for V1.5 and I'm not sure if
that is in V1.5-1H1 (a fix for running DEMFA in a cluster).

The [OpenVMS] OpenVMS Release Notes Addendum for VMScluster Systems
    says...

1.3.5 Using the DEMFA Adapter on AXP Systems

On systems running OpenVMS AXP Version 1.5, the DEMFA device's FXDRIVER
requires a fix to ensure that the DEMFA self-test completes prior to
the DEMFA network address being set.

Contact your Digital support person to acquire and apply this fix
before you enable the DEMFA adapter. The kit numbers are as follows:

o For DSNlink customers, install CSC patch number CSCPAT_2025010

NOTE: The CSC patch number has changed since the original publication
or this Release Note. The correct patch is CSCPAT_2023010

o For all other customers, install TIMA patch number AXPFXDR01_015
(TIMA stands for Technical Information Management Architecture.)
