7 Hello,
Does someone can confirm me that LAST protocol is not supported on
DEMFA (XMI controller).
For what I know only DECnet, IP and LAT are supported in the current
release.
One of my customer will connect in a very short term his systems
(9000 and 6000) on a DECconcentrator.
Those systems are running PATHWORK (File and Disk services for PC's)
and of course it will really be a big problem if LAST is not supported.
Is there a technical reason why it is not possible?
If not, when is LAST support forcasted?
Thanks in advance,
Robert

Can you please tell us where you heard of such a thing. Absolute
nonsense; DEMFA supports any datalink protocol. You have to enable the
reception of these packets using the device driver. I have personally
seen LAST packets using the DEMFA, so that should tell you. If your
version of FXDRIVER has a problem doing this, it's a bug. Please log a
QAR ASAP.

Yes I have configured PATHWORKS to run successfully on FDDI in a
VAXcluster MDF environment, there are issues around LAT which may
effect your customer, please see the note I have posted in the
ISEQ::MDF notes conference.
