Can anyone confirm (or deny) that the Optical Bypass relays are for use on
Multimode fibre grades only	or can they be installed onto Single mode too ?

    Regards

| I have just found the entries in note 320 re: bypasses, but would still
like to know if we do/or intend to, support SMF and bypass relays....

    Thanks for the indulgence...

| Bypass relays will NOT work with our SM implementation. Here's why:

Our SM TX/RX pair require a minimum loss of 12 dB to prevent receiver
over-saturation. In a bypassed configuration, there would be at least
24 dB of loss between the connected stations.

The loss budget for our SM link is 23 dB.
