| | You could set an IP address, and do a quick ping to the DECbridge, or
use ELMS, and get all kinds of data from it. I am using MSU on an
Ultrix 4.2 DECstation 5200. We have two Synoptics concentrators, and five
DB600. I am pinging everything for GO-NOGO positive map icon status.

| | Is there any other way to test the DECconcentrator and the DECbridge
using basic ULTRIX commands (i.e. assuming DECelms/MSU, etc. not
    installed on the system)?

             thanks,
               ken

| | I have a program which you can use query the SYSID (V3 or V4) of the device, do
802/Ethernet loopback test, get the MOP counters (V3 or V4 -- understands
FDDI), and XID/TEST queries.
[It's my general purpose tester for ULTRIX DLI]
