    Hi,

Even when the error count on FXnn (DEMFA) units rises when various
FDDI/hardware/network events occur, nothing is ever written to the
    error log.

Is this intentional ? If so how do you track the cause of errors on
    DEMFA units ?

This question is being reiased by the same customer that is querying
the counter information in note 395.

    Alan.

When the cable is disconnected or the physical link is disabled
somehow via conditions **EXTERNAL TO THE DEMFA**, there will be
no error log. Yes,,.. the device will periodically be reset, and
the error count will increase, but there is no DEMFA hardware error
to log in these cases. We don't want to log a hardware error for
the DEMFA everytime someone powers down the concentrator or pulls the
FDDI cable out of the system.
