| | This is a new part of the telephone service. I edited an excerpt of a
previous note below. I am glad to see that the credit union is trying
to reduce costs. I note that SEARS (not a credit union) is automating
all of their customer services and eliminating those employees.

MORE FEATURES ADDED TO DCU'S EASY TOUCH
Three new services have been added to our Easy Touch Audio
        Response System:

        1) Last 5 checks to clear
You can now receive a listing of the last 5 checks that have
        cleared your checking account. (Transaction type 1, Inquiries;
        then press 4.)

        2) Payroll posting
You can now check on the last payroll deposit made to your
account. (Transaction type 1, Inquiries; then press 5.)

        3) Last deposit
You can now check on the last deposit made to any of your
accounts. (Transaction type 1, Inquires; then press 6.)

REMEMBER, with our Easy Touch Audio Response System, you may
access your DCU accounts with a touch-tone phone 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week. Just call DTN/223-9943, 508/493-9943, or
        800/322-1232.

To sign up for an Easy Touch PIN (Personal Identification
Number), or to receive updated Easy Touch instruction, contact
your nearest DCU branch, or call our Member Service Center at
        DTN/223-8444 or 508/493-8444.

	Re. .0
I hate to be defending DCU, but in this case I will.
What you have described in .0 is not a normal service. Indeed, most
banks would not provide this service (without a charge). This service
does take up the attendant's time and other resources. The fact that
it makes checkbook balancing easier for you is no justification. Most
people, who balance their checkbooks, would find DCU's monthly
statement quite adequate for that purpose.
I would think that if you needed this kind of service once in a while,
say, when you were tracking a large deposit/withdrawal, this should
be OK. But when you do this on a weekly basis, it is not an ordinary
service, and should be charged. Something like 4 free reports/year,
the rest charged at foo$/report (small foo) would be reasonable, IMO.
	Sorry, no offense intended.

You miss the point, it's irrelevant whether what I was doing
was a normal service or not. The point is it's one more service that
they used to do for nothing that they now charge for.

    P.S. .1 - Thanks I didn't know that those
              services had been added.

| | Joe,

I used get "Demand Statements" from DCU from time to time and they have
always hit me up for the $2.00. How cum you've been gettin' it for
free??! Lately, I've been using EASY TOUCH and I love it.

There is a published schedule of fees you can get from your local
    branch.

Checking is still free (for now). DCU backed off implementing these
fees after trying to pull a fast one over on us. (Implementation of
fees disguised under a fancy name for checking accounts). The last
thing I heard was they were not going to implement the fees at this
time, but may do so at a later date. Anyone have the latest on this??

I bet there will be no further changes until after the election. DCU will
wait and see what the new BoD will be like.

Unless some petition candidates are elected, DCU already knows what
the new BoD will be like...

If I understood right for $2 you got the entire quarter, all I
was getting was a quick print out of the last 7 days. You know my
account would be on the screen showing the activity for the last week
and they would just hit the print screen key (I think).

I used to get statements for anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks at a time and
would be charged most of the time. Since I've been using EASY TOUCH
I don't need to get statements anymore. I makes it a lot easier to
track checks going thru your account. Once you get in the key strokes
are 1# 4# 5# to find out the last 5 checks that have cleared on
your account. You can also transfer monies between accounts to cover
any outstanding checks. It's one of the best things DCU has going
    right now.

| | re .6: Once or twice a year I ask my bank for a printout of account activity
for one reason or another (usually to find out if a particular check cleared) -
there's never any charge for it. So DCU's charging for that service simply
makes it more expensive...

| | I've always gotten demand statements for free too, but when I requested one
a couple of weeks ago, I was told it would be $2 unless it was only one page
long. So, I asked for the last 7 days and got it for free. Sounds like the
"policy" is more like a site by site "practice".

| | I lost my wallet a while back. I had a couple receipts from DCU in it,
that had not made my check book yet. In the process of canceling CC, I
asked for a transaction list for the time period I thought I had
receipts from. The teller gave it to me without question or cost. I
expected that this occur, in this case and DCU did right by me.
