| 612.1 | how about Xconfig? | UNXA::BEUTE | No good deed ever goes unpunished... | Tue Mar 04 1997 12:59 | 13 |

	Did you also have the customer create /etc/dt/config/Xconfig, and
	edit it to point to the new Xservers file? If not, then the
	change was never really tried. You must edit and change both
	files...

| 612.2 | /usr/bin/X11/X :0 -vclass0 PseudoColor -bp white -wp black | ALFAXP::RETTERER |  | Tue Mar 04 1997 13:39 | 24 |
| | No. I did not change the Xconfig file. I didn't think that
this was needed. I did verify however, that the Xserver
is getting the -bp and -wp parameters passed to it.
ps aux | grep -i /X
root      5786  0.0  2.8 11.3M 3.5M ??  13:25:25     0:03.69 /usr/bin/X11/X :0
-vclass0 PseudoColor -bp white -wp black ...
The Xserver appears not to be honoring the -bp and -wp parameters.
I can change the BlackPixel to 0 by changing -vclass0 to TrueColor but the
WhitePixel value is 65534.
Just for grins I tried this on a old ultrix system I have at my disposal
and the switches work just the way you would expect it to.
Any more help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rick Retterer

The Xserver folks rarely monitor this conference, try posting over
in BULOVA::DECWINDOWS.
