I am just about to finish a book called "High Endeavours" about Beryl
and Miles Smeeton. For those that have not read this book, you must do
so ...
What an amazing couple they were ....
I know that Beryl died in 1979 but it seems that Miles was still alive
in 1991 when the book was written ... anyone know ?

Just a postscript to my previous recommendation, I note in the latest
issue of Cruising World that Miles Clark (the Author of High
Endeavours) has died. There is a brief tribute to him.
I was a little startled, he was only 32 when he died. I guess he must
have been ill as there seemed no hint of accident in the article. It
is a loss as I had enjoyed his writing and he seems to have been quite
an adventurous spirit.
