I am interested in knowing what the sailing is like in the north
part of the Gulf of Mexico on the Florida side. In particular the
sailing out of the Tallahassee area. Also how far is it to Tampa from
there and to the Dry Tortugas. What are the prevailing winds and their
average speed.

I'm only a wannabe sailor here in Sarasota, but a charter captain told
me it was a 30 hour sail from here to Fort Jefferson in the Dry
Tortugas
