Can someone please explain to me how a mascerator (sp?) operates ?
The boat we're sailing on this year has one ..... is there a holding
tank also ? How does the waste get handled ? Does it also discharge
when completed ?
This one runs off the battery.
Thanks
Greg

From a non-expert:
I recall seeing a exploded view of a mascerator (Jabsco, mebbe),
and the impression it left me with was just a inline, post-head
blender with automatic `head chemical' (read bleach with bluing)
injector. Now this is technology the Romans probably had, but
Boston is still probably a good century away from implementing.
But don't worry; we've got the Environmental President!
Whoops. Sorry `bout the tirade. Went out last night for a sail.
The sunset was gorgeous, but Hull Gut smelled like a holding
tank... Yuck.
Scott.
Oh yeah- there was another mid tank... Pre-bleach... something
somewhat alive(?) added to break the solid waste down.
