| | I fell in love with the Laser 28 two years ago at the in water
boat show in Annapolis Md. The fibreglas work looks quite
good (not S2 or Jboat, but much better than most boats in her
price range). It is very comfortable down stairs as it has 6'3"
headroom. the woodwork was nice to. For the money (34K with
Volvo motor, and sails), it seem like quite a bargain compared
    to ODays or Catalinas.

I also talked to an owner from Chesapeake bay. Evidently they
have family races with them. He says they sail wonderful and
can take a pretty windy day while staying dry. There are not
too many of them in New England. If it wasn't for an addition
I was having put on my house, I'd be sailing one today.

| | I saw one last week in Nantucket (also in Newport), and talked to the
owner about it. It is a very nice looking boat, inside and out, with
lots of room for a boat it's size. He claims is handles very well, and
its PHRF rating is 129, which means it's a reasonably fast boat for its
    size.

Two of them were sailing it from Boston to Newport, via Nantucket. As
some might recall, the early part of last week was QUITE windy, and the
owner said it handled the wind (up to 30+ knots) and the Buzzards Bay
    chop very comfortably.
