I am looking for a 12 section of broken sailboat mast (wood or
aluminum). I also need a shorter piece, about 8 feet long and a
bit smaller. The 12 foot section should be about 4 inches at the
base.
Purpose? To install a mast on my lobster boat for fishing, etc.
Thanks
Paul

You might try a couple of Hobie Cat dealers on the Cape. I've
seen enough masts wrecked one way or another. Most people just rip
off the masting plate, the sheave, and the cleats before junking
them, but maybe these folks could be on the lookout for you the
next time someone comes in to buy one. The two you should check
would be ensign marine in mattaposit or swift sailing in
harwichport. The masts are aluminum and approx 4" in diameter.

"Rig-Rite Inc." should have what you need.
They build replacement spars, and they almost always
have a pile of scrap sections to choose from. However,
they're located in Warwick R.I. Their number is
401-739-1140, if you want to see if they have what
you're looking for.
