| I HAVE A "FARMER JOHN" SUIT WITH A JACKET AS WELL. MORE OFTEN THAN
NOT I SAIL WITHOUT THE JACKET. A LOT OF FOLKS WEAR AN OLD PAIR
OF FOUL WHETHER PANTS OVER THE WETSUIT PANTS TO PREVENT TEARING
ON A CLEAT OR WHATEVER.
I'M NOT PARTIAL TO ANY PARTICULAR BRAND. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF
DISCOUNT WINDSURFER SUPPLIERS WHO HAVE EXCELLENT SELECTIONS AND
PRICES. DON'T TRY AND GET BY WITH A SCUBA DIVING SUIT. THEY'RE
NOT CUT OR FASTENED THE SAME, TOO RESTRICTING.
I'VE JUST RETURNED FROM A "HOLIDAY" IN LONDON, NORWICH, THE BROADS,
CROMER, ETC.. THE WEATHER WAS BETTER THERE THAN HERE IN MASSACHUSETTS
FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS !

| Well note 651.1 you were extra lucky, although you went to a nice
part of England. My Grandad lives up there, and that is were my
father was born. I would'nt mind going to Masscussets U.S.A. though,
sounds grand. Well I hope you enjoyed your holiday in our tiny
country. The rivers are not as clean as they were according to
my Grandad.

remember several discussions about wet suits, dry suits, styles
costs, manufactures etc.

a nylon windbreaker over a wetsuit is good till late Nov. in New
England. A couple of years ago, a good sailing buddy found some
really good deals in a sporting good store called Greaves in
Glasco(sp?) Scotland. I called them up and they took the sizes and
had them shipped over here in 5 days. Two days later, a letter
arrived saying the suits had been shipped and to expect them any
day. They were 3 mm so they are real warm when it gets cold.
The trick to sailing in wetsuits is to either have the knees padded,
or wear kneepads as the deck really chews the knee section up .
Another trick is to get the jacket with nylon sleeves. They sure are
a lot easier to move around with.
For sailing, watch out for the neoprene dry suits. They ussally
are 4 or 5 mm thick and hate to bend. I had a freind racing the Worrall
1000 who fought the suit more than ocean trying to sit down.
For comfort, get a size larger. You are not going to be in the water
like a scuba driver, so why wear a skin tight suit?
