| We did not sail Bimini but saw enough of their boats to notice
that they seemed well maintained, relatively new, and well equipped.
Anegeda is fairly dangerous. The entire island can't be more than 25
feet above sea level and one hears of numerous charter boats running
into trouble on the reefs there. Many companies won't let you take
your boat near there; ours didn't. Looking at the chart and some
pictures, there is an anchorage under the sand dunes at the west end.
The approach to any other anchorage is through coral heads and
probably requires one of the local "bomba" pilots to guide you through.

| You may wish to give the CYC folks another try. I chartered one of their
new (3 weeks in the fleet) 47s in February. Obviously, the boat was in
perfect condition, but in regard to your complaint, the 47 is very fast.
I don't know what the base boat is (they call it a CYC 47) but it was
designed by Sparkman and Stephens and is a clean, modern design.
CYC is not the lowest price outfit, but this boat was worth it.

| Thank you for the responses so far. RE .2, I believe the new CYC 47 is a Hylas
and I had heard they were very nice. Also, as far as CYC goes, I thought they
were a super outfit, very attentive, very laid back approach to most everything
except prepping the boats but above all friendly and pleasant to deal with. The
boats were very clean in and out. If we weren't so set on two weeks, we would
probably go with them again. The Endeavor on the other hand was very heavy and
sluggish. I must admit it was also very comfortable for two couples. Not bad if
you are not in a hurry.

| We just finished a week on a Moorings 37 (aka Beneteau 37) out of
Tortola. The Moorings won't let you go to Anegada without a captain.
The captain can be picked up and dropped off anywhere on Tortola. You
pay the captain and their transportation to and from Road Town. I've
seen a chareter ad in Sail or Cruising World recently that made a
special point that they allowed their boats to go to Anegada. Anyone
else seen the ad??
