    I'd rather be stranded with somebody that has a pickup with a plow
    attachment and a generator.

	Someone who can appreciate the power of Nature with a childlike wonder;
who would love to be forced to put aside the "busyness of living" for the chance
to make snow angels and snow statues; someone who would love to sit by the fire
and read a book, or play cribbage by candlelight, while the wind howls and
the snow drifts on...

    I already have the person I would like to be holed up with in a storm. 
    We do play bridge instead of cribbage though.  ;-)
    
    I really can't think o anyone I would rather be stranded with than
    Frank and the kids.  

    Most want to be stranded with: my husband
    Least want to be stranded with: his mother
    
    I hope I'd have the following with me: books, massage oil, nacho stuff
    and candles (matches, too, of course).
    
    Stuff I hope wouldn't work: phone, tv.
    
    That could be a good time... 
    
    My husband works for the state and it's quite likely that he will be
    sent home tomorrow if it's that bad.  Lucky guy.

    I'm another one who would pick my family first (my husband and my son.)
    Actually, I've been stranded with my son before - he was a crackup the
    whole time.  :>

    Outside family, I think I'd choose Hillary Clinton.  She's got so many
    interesting things to say about so many subjects - I'd be fascinated
    for days on end listening to her.

    I ended up being stranded with my vcr and an exercise tape with Denise
    Austin.  Between low and high energy aerobics and shoveling I feel like
    an old lady!!! Ouch........

    so just how did everyone who got stuck spend the day?
    We lost power 3 times (but had plenty of candles and a battery
    operated tv for Bob, who just had to hear the news). Got about
    30 inches of snow. Had every bird in Central Mass at my bird-
    feeder, practically standing in line for their turns to eat
    (I ended up putting out about 10 pounds of seed, most of which
    was gone by this morning). We played cards and cribbage and
    Scrabble and I got to finish a great book. We snoozed. I went
    out and took photos in the morning at the storm's heaviest and then
    again minutes after it stopped. I endured snickering phone calls
    from family in Florida and a friend in northern Vermont who only
    got a dusting. Cheered my sister who had to deal with my niece's
    revelation "mommy, there's a tree on our porch!" And had a 
    great time, even shoveling!

    Hmm....well, I drove in to work through the teeth of the blizzard on
    Monday night.  Unable to see where the highway ended and the shoulder
    began.
    
    Sent out site mail a 6 telling all the people who weren't here that
    they shouldn't come in until noon (of course, the site wasn't closed
    then, it was only closed between 8 and noon!  The heck with the off
    shift people).
    
    Drove home at ~7 a.m. Tuesday, walked ~1/4 through thigh-high snow,
    slept much of the day, and came in to work Tuesday night.
    
    Pretty much your regular day.

    	Well....... we lost power for a couple hours on Monday night.
    	So we lit a fire in the fireplace and read for a bit.  Power
    	came back on around 10:00pm.  Got up the next morning, looked
    	out the window, said no way am I going in, so I logged on to
    	send mail to my managers and groups.  Tried falling back to
    	sleep but couldn't so I got up and went out to help Shane
    	with the snow removal.  Got into a snowball fight and he 
    	tackled me into the snow.  Shook the heavy snow off the small
    	hemlocks (I think that's what they are) that edge the backyard.
    	Stayed inside for the rest of the day.

    Checked outside to make sure that the weather men were right this time,
    they were.  Put on the coffee and logged on to the internet for the
    day.  Did some research for the family, played Slingo on AOL, and then
    created some place tags and cards for an 80th. birthday event for my
    father that I will be going to in Las Vegas in 2 weeks.  ;-)
    
    

    My poor spouse spent 18 hours stranded on the Penn turnpike. 
    He started running low on gasoline and moved into a truck
    with a French-speaking truck-driver.  The worse way to spend a 
    blizzard as far as he was concerned.  The only good part of 
    the story was he had a car phone, so I knew where he was and
    how he was doing.

	We (Sudbury, Mass.) lost power for twelve hours - mostly daylight time.
We walked around surveying neighborhood damage - and awesome beauty.  Spent a
couple hours blowing snow around with an undersized (for this storm) snowblower.
Fortunately, my vacation home generator was still in place from the December
storm and I hooked it back up so we had heat and TV for a few hours before
Edison found the switch again.
	We were thankful that our flight to Milan for a twelve day break was
not going to be until 2 days later.  We spent some time planning what to
pack for that jaunt.  (Just got back last night - with a good start on my tan!)
