I'm very close to purchasing a Sony CCD-TRV62 Hi-8 Camcorder.
Is there anyone out there in notes world that owns one of these
beasts and can comment on it, either pro or con? I've also looked
at the Hitachi VME-825LA, but am leaning towards the Sony.

Another question I have concerns the small LCD display's and
how bright light affects them. Can anyone comment on this? Do I
need to plan on buying some kind of shroud for it when I'm using
    it in bright light?

    Thanks for your help.....

    Bob

| I have TRV81 -- Hi-8. I like it very much. I have so far always used
LCD panel(4") inside (theater hall etc) so I do not see any problem with
    display.

| Bob,
I purchased a TR3300E (PAL) 9 months ago. I had looked at the LCD
screen models but decided to invest the money in a better lense zoom
capabilitie i.e. 21 X Optical and 84 Digital, with the Super Steady
shot it works really well. Also the colour viewfinder is excellent. If
you have the equivalent model in NTSC maybe have a look at that?.
