Would someone tell me about the June 23rd holiday in Sweden.
The only information I have is that I will eat pickled herring that
day. Is that Midsummer's day?
Since I'll be in Sweden at that time, I would also appreciate knowing
whether formal or semiformal dress is required at any of the
activities.
Do you know an inexpensive place to stay in Gothenburg?
How much does a train ride from Stockholm to Gothenburg cost?
Also, what is the acceptable mode of attire for sunbathing? Is it San
Tropez style for women?

In Sweden 1995, it is.

Only if you follow tradition. Nobody is going to insist. FWIW: you
should try it if you haven't had it before.

The least that will keep you from hypothermia. It's not July and August
weather just yet.

It's a party in the country, so dress for the weather - being out all
night in natural surroundings - and such.

to what is specifically happening with the midsummer celebration
itself. [But you might be invited somewhere in any case.]
