Some of the colleges and universities that teach Norwegian in North
    America are:

    U of Wisconsin, Madison
U of Minnesota Twin Cities (also offers correspondence courses)
    U of North Dakota
    Augustant College Sioux Falls SD
    Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN
    St. Olaf College, Northfield MN
    Luther College, Decorah, IA
    UCLA
    U of Calif -- Berkeley
    U of Washington (Seattle)

    U. of ALberta, Edmunton

I'm sure there are more, but off the top of my head, these are the ones
    that come to mind.

The Sons of Norway local lodges often offer courses, but there is no
central registry of courses offered, so try the phone book.

Other than U Minn correspondence course, you could try Audio Forum (96
Broad St., Guilford, CT 06437) which offers two courses on books/tapes.

I like the Berlitz series for travelers, like Norwegian in three months
(ha ha ), the Norwegian in 10 minutes a day is cute, but I don't know
how much you can learn of anything in 10 minutes a day. The Teach
yourself Norwegian (still in print, though fairly old) is solid. No
    tapes.

If you have a Macintosh, write to me about MacNorsk (which I do not
want to advertise here, just to mention it)

If you need more addresses or phone nos of the schools, please ask.

Also West Valley College in SW San Jose teaches Norwegian. Their
    bookstore is named "Viking"

I think Foothill College in this area also has had Norsk classes...
