I just had to tell one of our largest customer, that PL/I V3.5 and VAX VMS 6.1
is the last combination supported on VAX. The customer wants to know whether
he could get PL/I for VAX VMS 6.2 and newer versions.

I've heard a rumor, that PL/I on VAX has been sold to a company named Uniprise.
Is this true?

    Wilfried,
    
    PL/I was sold to UniPrise Systems two years ago. They are working on a
    new release of VAX PL/I right now; the field test is scheduled to 
    start in early April. This will be a maintenance release and will
    contain support for VMS V6.2 through V7.1.
    I'm looking for FT sites if your customer is interested.

	is there any cost involved if the customer wants to be an FT site?

When do you expect the production release will be available?

    No cost to being a FT site; the customer will be asked to FT the
    software for approximately 8-10 weeks and report bugs to UniPrise
    engineering.
    If all goes well with FT I expect the production release to be 
    available in late June.
