| | Try using keywords:

    DIR/KEYWORD = LOW_CHOLESTEROL, or
    DIR/KEYWORD = LOW_CALORIE

I know I've seen several recipes in this conference, and the keywords
will hopefully help you locate them.

    Good luck,

| | I too "had" high cholesterol until I purchased a book called
THE 8 WEEK CHOLESTEROL CURE by Ron Kowolski.

It's truly a wonderful book, not only does he explain cholesterol
but gives wonderful recipes. He takes the foods that we have loved
over the years and fashioned them for us folks with the problem.
The author had (if I remember correctly) 3 heart surgeries before
he finally took his doctors advice and changed his eating habits.

    I hope this helps.

Someone in my family has high cholesterol, and through some
reading, we have learned that any kind of bean actually lowers
cholesterol. There are some really good lentil soup, and bean soup
recipes in cook books. It's great because you can make a big batch,
and freeze it in small containers (enough for one meal), defrost it and
microwave it. Soup always tastes better reheated anyways. I found
that the best recipes for both those soups contain stewed tomatoes, or
some kind of tomato sauce. Good luck!

P.S. There are a lot of low cholesterol cook books out there, and the
magazines are flooded with low cholesterol/fat recipes.

| | Hi! You might also want to look at those foods that fight cholesterol.
Such as foods high in Omega 3 - tuna, salmon, mackeral, etc. I
personally take a supplement as I really am not this type of fish
eater and unfortunately the supplement has not been proven, but
I take it anyway. Oat bran and olive oil are others. If you like,
there have been articles in Prevention Magazine that add to the above.
I'll be glad to bring it in and post some. Let me know.

We have someone in the office who really changed his eating habits because
of high cholesterol. After a year it dropped only 7 points. So
it may be a matter of eating foods low in cholesterol and also the
    ones that attack it.

   Have a good weekend!

| | I recommend the American Heart Association Cookbook. Not all the
recipes are foolproof, but they are prepared to be low fat.
