Has anyone tried the Lava rock substitues for gas grills? These
are things like Char-Diamonds, briquettes for gas grill, ceramic
heating tiles, etc.
(entered also in the gadgets notes conf.)

My husband tried the charcoal briquettes for gas grills. He didn't
use them instead of lava rocks...he used them in addition to lava
rocks. He liked the convenience of the gas grill but missed the
charcoal flavor. I have to admit after having things cooked
both ways that the charcoal flavor makes a big difference.
