Does anybody have any experience with the new convection microwaves, Sharp
in particular?  We are planning to get some kind of microwave soon, but
had originally just wanted it for reheating, baking potatoes, cooking
veggies, etc.  Comment appreciated.

	I bought the Sharp one a few months ago. It's a convection and microwave oven in one. I got the one that is a hood (with light and exhaust fan). I think it's great. One thing I've seen with convection ovens (in general), is they don't cook food with lots of cheese very well. The food cooks too fast for the cheese to melt and blend properly. The Sharp model that I got has temperature probe so you can cook things to specific temp, do mixed cooking (part microwave, part convection), delayed start and more. The owners manual is pretty thick but I haven't run into any problems so far. If you buy a Sharp oven, they send you an invitation to a cooking class so you can learn how to use one (if you've never used one before). Me, I figure I'll just keep experimenting. 	I HAVE JUST BECOME THE PROUD OWNER OF A HALOGEN MICROWAVE - IT IS ABOSULUTELY BRILLIANT - GONE ARE THE DAYS OF THE AWFUL MICROWAVE BROWNING POWDER - THE HALOGEN LIGHTS BROWN THE FOOD. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND ONE - YOU'LL NEVER BE WITHOUT THIS. HAPPY MICROWAVING!!!! REGARDS, CAROL

	I have a Sharp Half-Pint microwave since there is limited space available in my kitchen. It is not very high wattage but does everything I need it to do. I have gotten excellent results in cooking vegetables, barbeque chicken, pork and even popping pop corn. It allows me to cook a complete meal for one or two people in about twelve minutes. If you just need a microwave for these type things and nothing fancy, this one is excellent.

	As for the price of the Sharp Half-Pint, they range any where from $99 to $150 depending on the features. Mine has the push button settings rather than the dial timer and it cost $120 at Circuit City in Atlanta.

	The Halogen microwave is the combination of Halogen lamps and microwaves you can cook with a combination of both or one or other. It's the same principle as the cooker with halogen hot plates and ceramic hot plates - you should see one in action far better than an ordinary microwave which I have had for years - this was a good move - a bit expensive at 500 pounds sterling but worth it.
