| 248.8 | ... but it prints funny | CRVAX1::KAPLOW | Bob Kaplow - DDO | Wed Apr 30 1986 18:22 | 16 |
| | I pulled the cookbook over to my system and printed it out. It
seems to be formated with multiple <cr> in place of <ff>
characters, and when printed it does a very poor job of page
        alligning itself on the printer.

It also seems to be full of _s_t_r_i_n_g_s _l_i_k_e _t_h_i_s,
aparantly trying to indicate underlining, bolding, or something
that do nothing on a line printer, except cause the rest of the
        line to be lost.

Anyone know why, or have a way to fix it, before I bother to hack
        it myself with EDT?

BTW, it might not be a bad idea to post the index to the cookbook
here, so noters can see what is there without copying the entire
        book.

| | If anyone else out there is having trouble copying over the edited
version of the cookbook, here is a solution. Copy over the original
unedited version. Using EDT , issue the following two command one
after the other in command mode
1)sub/Cntrl(h)//wh The Cntrl(h) is the actual key stroke entered
here. It will show up as ^H.
2)sub/_//wh This will get rid of all the underlining.

The index still comes out a slightly strange but all the recipes
    are perfectly legible.
This will give you a printable version of the file which you can
then do with as you please.

You can get a copy from PSTJTT::COOKBOOK.MEM -- note that there is no
disk name or account in the file specification; all you need is the node
and filename. Trust me. There's another file PSTJTT::COOKS.TXT that
seems to be a compilation of recipies from this file. I'd give the
compiler credit, but I don't remember where I got it from. It's a
couple of years old, so it won't have the recent entries.
