Bayern Munich 0 - 1 Paris St. Germain
    Spartak Moscow beat Dynamo Kiev

    So Paris 10 points
       Moscow and Munich 4 each
       Kiev 2

Paris play Moscow, and Munich against Kiev, all to play for for second
    place.

Match report : Munich - Paris

Brilliant is the only word that I would use to describe the following
aspects of the Paris game ...

      Team play
      Spirit
      Defense
      Substitutions

And of course the GOAL OF THE SEASON from George Weah to win the game.
JPP (Papin to you non French guys) said after the game that Munich were
    beaten by the better team!

The goal : Weah was pressing, challenging, tackling, got the ball and
headed for goal, laid it off to a team mate who gave it back (neat
1-2). Weah made a tricky change of direction, leaving a couple of
defenders stranded. [This all started midway into the Munich half, on
the left touchline] He then went fast for the left edge of the Munich
box, confronted by a defender he sold him a great dummy, making him
think he would go left and away from goal. Instead, he broke back to
the right, steadied himself and from about the edge of the box, blasted
the ball between defender, left post and goalkeeper (no hope of
touchiung it, let alone stopping it) for a terrific goal.

    This is some team!!

Agree totally with the summation of the goal - it was stunning.
The rest of the match was pretty boring though (IMO), however when
the goal came, it made sitting through the rest of it worth while.
Papin was next to useless. The PSG goalie had an excellent game,
especially towards the end. In the last 4 minutes though (when Munich
realised they we're well beaten), PSG turned on the style, and were
    playing exhibition stuff - excellent.

    Paul,

I can say with my hand on heart, that they didn't even come close
to the standards expected at Hillsborough.

| | George Weah's goal against Bayern last night was a beauty indeed.
Individual effort supported by teammates, the best combination. For
those who do not know Mister George, he is a Liberian international
which is the reason why he is not (and will never be) world famous. At
age 28 he is now flourishing, one the most exciting strikers of all
    time.

Check out that goal on your local TV!

Paris SG are the only team in all groups to have won all their games.
They are now waiting for results in the MU/Barca/Gothenburg/Gala group
to know which team they will face in March. Already they know they will
play the second leg in Paris.

They can now focus on the League, with only 4 points behind Nantes.

    Cheers

| | I saw him play for Monaco (v St.Etienne) about 4 years. Incredible skill
and could beat players not probs. Trouble then was he couldn't hit a barn
door from 2 feet!!
Seems to be incredible now in the Champions League highlights from ITV.
Mind you he did bugger all against Arsenal last year.
Hope he continues for an Ajax v PSG final. Should be some game (but who to
support?)

| | Poor old JPP - on the losing side at Milan against Marseille,
and now on the losing side at Bayern against PSG. Perhaps he
should have stayed in France ..

Its very quiet in this note today, after another fantastic performance
by PSG and George Weah. Two cracking goals from him, and another that
he set up for some continous complainer who also got himself booked! I
used to think the said moaner was one of the best players in France,
    not any more...

Anyway Paris played excellent football, and won 4-1 in front of an
ecstatic crowd (which I tried to join but couldn't get tickets, sob!).
They finish the group with a maximum 12 points, and can be claimed as
the best club side in Europe at this stage.
