If England don't start trying to play some football then it's all over
bar the shouting. Laurent Blanc will eat up those long, hopeful balls
and Boli should be able to keep Lineker quiet enough (the danes managed
OK). At least France try to make runs and find their players. Papin
proves time and time again that even if he is ineffective for 89
minutes, he only needs one chance and that's it.

    England are in deep merde.

| | If England can get the ball to Lineker in a decent position, we may
have a chance. The only chance he had last night was one he made for
himself cutting in from the left.

Daley should be given a full game. He did well whilst on the right and
wasn't seen after he switched flanks.

France didn't look up to much against Sweden so England shouldn't look
out of place. My overall feeling is that we may see another goalless
    draw but I hope not!

If England can play the ball through the midfield instead of over it,
then we stand a very good chance of beating the French. I was glad
that it wasn't Papin who was presented with some of the chances that
the Danes had last night, we would have been seriously in trouble.
I would like to see Merson on the left and Daley on the right, with
Lineker and Platt getting on the end of crosses/through balls.

Although I found last night very frustrating, I am still confident
    about the game agianst France.

| | .....they certainly stuck to Taylors tactics, no room for imagination.

Thats got to be the worst England midfield for a long time. It cries
out for someone like Gascoine to do something......

Lineker is right to cash in his chips now with the Japanese as he's
lost the pace that made him so difficult to play against. The first
half showed Englands long hours of Corner practising with cross
after cross going to the near post French defender to easily clear
    away.

England were given no space around the box, yet they gave the French
space especially in the second half to make runs at them. It really
looked like Daly should have been on to make runs against Amoros who has
    clearly lost pace now.

In the end were unlucky with the Pearce shot that hit the bar and
came down and out, if it had been Shilton in goal it would have hit
the back of his head and gone in the goal :-(

No choice but to win against Sweden now, we play second on Wednesday
night which is in our favour.
